And the top things to do culturally?
Visiting private and public galleries are favourite things to do. Highly recommend walking along the Hollywood Rd and Queens Rd in Central. Two of the galleries I usually go to are Gagosian in Pedder Building and Liangyi Museum on Hollywood Rd.
Looking for a short escape from city life? I always go to the Zoological & Botanical Gardens instead of Hong Kong Park. It is a quiet place which not many people. Letting yourself go in the forest and surrounds to the sound of birds, it’s an absolute a cure for an exhausted mind. West Kowloon Cultural District is a new park that recently finished in 2018, with the M+ Museum. It has amazing lawn and it is the place I would recommend for a weekend picnic. What is unique to Hong Kong?
The city itself is the mix of everything. No matter what cultural backgrounds or where you’re from, everyone can find something special to themselves in there. It’s a lively city with freshness every single day.
Do you have any insider tips?
Wear flats or kitten hills! Hong Kong’s streets are definitely not heel-friendly, unless you are grabbing a taxi. Otherwise please wear flats or you are going to need a solid good foot massage at the end of day. Don’t be afraid to wander around and let yourself get lost in the city. It always surprises you with different findings. Also, I believe that the best way to measure a city is by your feet! Always bring dry-shampoo when you travel to Hong Kong! The humidity will drive you crazy! Advice from a girl with flat hair. Charlotte & Jennifer Lin
What is the best time to travel?
My favourite time of the year is Christmas and Chinese New Year, the decoration and the city vibe are absolutely amazing and romantic. I personally suggest anytime though out of the year except the middle of summer (June & July), it is just too hot with the humid weather.
